I’ve farmed this necklace for four different alts over the years, so I’m breaking down everything you need to know to get the most out of it without wasting your time.
What Makes Black Desert Online Asula's Crimson Eye Necklace Worth Farming?
First off, this necklace doesn’t look that impressive on paper at first glance, but its value comes from its base stats and the set bonus it unlocks when paired with other Asula accessories. It gives +4 AP, +5 DP, and +4 accuracy right out of the box, no enhancement required. The full 3-piece Asula set adds an extra +5 AP and +7 DP on top of individual item stats, which is a bigger boost than most unenhanced blue accessories can offer for early game players.
You don’t have to spend a single silver on the marketplace to get it, either. Unlike boss necklaces that cost hundreds of millions of silver even at low enhancement levels, you can farm this necklace entirely on your own while you level up your character and earn other loot. It’s also one of the few early game accessories that works for every class, so you don’t have to worry about wasting grind time on an item you can’t use on your main or alts.

I’ve had drops at all three of these spots, so pick the one that matches your current AP and DP to avoid wasting time dying over and over.
- Helms Post mobs in Mediah: These level 52+ mobs have very low HP for their level, making them perfect for players with 110+ AP. The drop rate sits around 0.03% per kill, plus you’ll get other Asula pieces, relic shards, and trash loot you can sell for extra silver while you grind.
- Sausan Garrison mobs in Mediah: Slightly higher level than Helms Post mobs, these are best for players with 125+ AP. The drop rate is marginally higher, and you’ll also earn Sausan Seals you can exchange for other Asula pieces or upgrade materials if you get lucky.
- Abandoned Iron Mine mobs in Calpheon: If you’re below level 50 and can’t handle Mediah mobs yet, this spot is your best bet. The drop rate is lower, but mobs are much easier to kill, and you’ll level up fast while you farm for the necklace.
You can cut your grind time almost in half if you stack drop buffs before you start. Using item drop scrolls, fortune buffs from your camp, and event drop buffs all stack with each other to drastically increase your chance of getting a drop faster. I got my first necklace after just 5 hours of casual grinding at Helms Post with a 100% drop buff active, compared to 12 hours without buffs on my second alt.
Best Builds and Classes That Benefit Most From the Necklace
While every class can use this necklace effectively in early game, some builds get way more value out of it than others. Accuracy dependent classes like Awakening Musa, Striker, and Mystic get an extra edge from the +4 accuracy, since they often struggle to land hits on higher level mobs before they have fully enhanced endgame gear. The extra DP also makes it a great pick for squishy classes like Rangers and Witches who need extra survivability while they learn grind spots.
If you’re running PvE-focused alts for silver farming, this necklace is a no-brainer pick. You don’t have to spend any silver enhancing it, you just equip it and send your alt out to grind. I’ve used it on my Tamer alt for 6 months of Elvia grind spots, and it held up perfectly even after I upgraded the rest of my gear to PEN Tuvala.
It’s not the best pick for competitive PvP, though. The low stat caps mean it can’t compete with boss accessories for 1v1 or node war play, though it works fine for casual arena matches against other new players. If you’re focused mostly on PvP content, you can swap it out for a Tungrad Necklace as soon as you can afford one.
When Should You Replace Asula's Crimson Eye Necklace?
A common mistake new players make is replacing their Asula necklace as soon as they find a random blue or yellow accessory with slightly higher AP. But if you’re running the full 3-piece Asula set, the set bonus will usually give you better overall stats than a single unenhanced boss accessory. Don’t swap it out until you can replace at least two pieces of the Asula set with higher tier accessories to avoid losing that valuable set bonus.
You don’t need to replace this necklace until you hit at least 240 AP and 300 DP. At that point, a TRI Ogre Necklace or TRI Basilisk’s Necklace will give you a much bigger AP boost for endgame PvE grind spots. For PvP players, a TRI Tungrad Necklace is the better swap, since it gives extra HP and DP to help you survive group fights.
If you’re playing a seasonal character, you can keep the necklace until you finish enhancing all your Tuvala gear to PEN. Once you have full PEN Tuvala, the Tuvala necklace will have better base stats than the Asula necklace, even without the set bonus. You can keep the old Asula necklace in your storage for alts, or sell it to a vendor if you don’t need it anymore.
